Cats Online Slot Machine

IGT takes you to the sunbaked plains of Africa for their CATS online slot game. The cats involved include tigers, lions, panthers, and leopards. When you trigger wins with them, you will hear distinctive roars. Paw print symbols play a special role. They can trigger a free spins bonus. During your free spins different reels will give you up to 10 shots at lining up big wins.

Cats slots use unique split symbols. Alongside symbols showing a single big cat, there are others with pairs of cats. This makes 10 of a kind wins possible. Add in some wild symbols, and you will see that IGT provide plenty of ways to win.

You can play Cats slots in live casinos around Michigan, including online sites like BetMGM online casino. This real money slots game now joins many classics from the IGT range. You can play for real money anywhere within state lines. In addition to IGT slots, you will can find games from Ainsworth, NetEnt, Konami and other popular studios.

Basics: How the split symbols on Cats slots work

This slot machine uses 30 win-lines, with bets from 1c per line and up. You cannot change the number of lines – though you are free to boost your bets. Wins are triggered by lining up symbols from the left. You need a minimum of 3 big cats to trigger a win. The difference with this game is that you can do this by hitting just 2 symbols on a win-line.

Some of the symbols show single big cats, while others show pairs. This means the smallest win is a pair and a single on reels 1 and 2 – giving you 3 of a kind. Line up 5 pairs, and you have a 10 of a kind win for the maximum prize. Wilds are in play. These symbols count as a pair of big cats – even when they are involved in multiple win-lines – making them more valuable than wilds on other games.

Big Cats: Pay table

Wilds show the logo. They have the biggest single prize. If you line up 5 of them, you get a huge 10,000 coin pay out. 4 are worth 1000 coins with 300 coins for 3.

You might expect the lions to have the biggest prize. Instead, this award goes to the jet-black panthers. They are worth 2500 coins for the maximum 10 of a kind. Lions, tigers, leopards, and cougars then have equal 1000-coin top prizes.

Smaller wins come from the regular playing card symbols.

Cats slots: Paw prints trigger free spins

Paw print symbols can appear on the middle 3 reels. They show either a single silver print, or a double one, on a distinctive red background. Like the cat symbols, there are double and single variations.

To trigger the free spins, you need to hit at least 5 paw prints in total. This will get you 5 free spins, while 6 prints will get you 10 spins. Different reels are used for the bonus games. They appear to be richer (more cats) than those used in the base game.

There are no paw print symbols in play for this bonus – meaning you will not be able to extend your bonus.

Orange sunset: Cats slot design

To the sides of the reels you will see golden grass, with trees and a beautiful orange and yellow sunset beyond. Cat symbols show the heads. They have different colored backgrounds to make them easy to follow (even in mobile slot format). The rich graphics are split by the playing card symbols, which have a black background.

Sound effects when you spin the reels are similar to those used in many older IGT slots. What is different is the roaring sounds. These are different for each of the 5 big cats and are triggered any time you land a win. If you win big, then a silhouette of a cat appears in front of the reels – walking along as the numbers increase.

For the free spins bonus, the background changes to night. You can see a moon above the reels, with the coloring of the symbols changing to match.

How does the Cats slot from IGT compare?

Cats is a classic in the IGT slots range. It is smart, with fast reels and smooth animations. It is not a recent title, which shows in the style of the artwork.

Split symbols were a new innovation when the Cats slot first appeared. While the complexity of games has increased massively since those days – it was once a new direction in slot play. This is easy to get used to. If you miss a win, the roar of the big cats will soon get your attention. 10 of a kind wins will trigger some big prizes – with the biggest prize of all triggered by lining up 5 of the logo wild symbols.

You can find Cats slots at the new online casinos in Michigan. Games can be accessed via your desktop via your browser, or you can download a casino app for your iPhone or Android smartphone. Other popular IGT slots you can play online include classics like Cleopatra, Wolf Run and Wheel of Fortune.
