Celtic FC: December Review

Celtic FC: December Review

Although there is still one match to go before another eventful year at Celtic is seen out, a recent defeat at the hands of Dundee United has got fans talking, with a minority still doubting new manager, Ronny Deila’s credibility as boss. Celtic have had a topsy-turvy month thus far results wise, with three wins and two defeats in all competitions- Deila will be setting his sights on a win against strugglers, Ross County to make December’s record look more presentable.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

A few days after disposing Hearts in the cup, Partick Thistle were the opponents of the Parkhead club. A few weeks previous, The Bhoys had came up against their Glaswegian counter-parts in cup action, with John Guidetti stealing the show in a comfortable victory for Celtic. The now familiar 4-2-3-1 formation went up against the sturdy Jags in a bitterly cold Wednesday evening encounter. Celtic won by a narrow one goal lead, thanks to Dutch centre-back, Virgil van Dijk who netted in thef 60th minute. Although content with the slender of victories, some eyes were pointed more towards their future cup opponents, as they were beaten by Alloa at the same time.

Motherwell 0-1 Celtic

A trip to Lanarkshire was to be for Celtic, when they went up against a managerless, Motherwell at Fir Park. The Bhoys put on an impressive but un-clinical showing in front of a partially filled stadium- unhappy with their own recent performances. The Celtic goal came through smart thinking of attacking midfielder, Stefan Johansen, who rounded the goalkeeper and picked out a waiting Anthony Stokes for a cut-back. The period of dominance that Celtic expressed throughout the match just couldn’t present itself on the scoreboard. The Well may well have thought of themselves to be unlucky to at least nick a point when substitute, Lee Erwin was unable to slot home an easy chance at the last.

Dinamo Zagreb 4-3 Celtic

Europa League matters had to be dealt with when the Celts travelled to Croatia to play Dinamo Zagbreb, in what was an unimportant but thrilling encounter. Celtic had already secured qualification to the next stage of the competition and fielded a partly experimental side. They conceded early on but an instant response by Kris Commons in a bizarre turn of events got Celtic level. Stefan Scepovic, who hasn’t had the best time since joining Celtic in the summer, put Celtic in front- taking advantage of Zagreb ball-watching. Before the break Zagreb were the ones to draw level. After the break, Celtic were hit with two quick blows as Zagreb doubled their goal tally. Celtic were to have the last laugh as they brought the score within one before the full-time whistle when Pivaric scored an own goal.

Celtic 4-1 St Mirren

Back in league action, Celtic hosted relegation candidates St Mirren, under the charge of Gary Teale. Going into the game it was a case of by how many were Celtic going to win by. Captain, Scott Brown put his side up early, but The Bhoys were surprised to see the ball in the back of the net but was chopped off for offside. Little did they know, St Mirren would go onto bring the game back level- as Marc McAusland assisted Sean Kelly in the goal. This goal was quickly cancelled out thanks to smart work by winger, James Forrest who scored his first after coming back into the side from injury. Things were settled for the first half when Scott Brown scored another goal, cementing Celtic dominance. Midway through the second half Stefan Johansen played through Anthony Stokes who scored the final goal of the game. The team played with great fluidity and manager Ronny Deila thought the margin could have been by 10.

Dundee United 2-1 Celtic

A tricky tie to Tannadice to play Dundee United would get chins wagging as The Arabs took Celtic to task, defeating them by two goals to one. Jackie McNamara, Dundee United manager, had his tactics spot on as he made his side go for Celtic and exploited many weaknesses. A miss-hit Efe Ambrose clearance fell into the path of the deadly right foot of Nadir Ciftci who done well to loop the ball to Craig Gordon’s far post and put United in front. What followed was Celtic dominance in attack, but very vulnerable at defence with Ambrose, Emilio Izaguirre and Adam Matthews in the thick of it. Celtic were unfortunate not to be in front as many chances passed them by throughout the match. A spirited and passionate defensive performance of United was enough to absorb any attacks Celtic threw their way- as well as the heroics of goalkeeper, Radoslaw Cierzniak on multiple occasions. The keeper was eventually beaten as substitute Leigh Griffiths slotted his shot through the legs of the Polish stopper at the end of the match. There were many talking points post-game including an offside decision against Scepovic as his goal was disallowed. There was also a case to answer for for Virgil van Dijk who was seen to be fouled during a corner. That being said, United definitely played to their strengths, and exploited weaknesses in Celtic.

Future Matches

Last up for Celtic in December is Ross County at Parkhead, and it seems to be another case of by how many goals. In the first tie this season, Celtic played arguably their best performance against the Highlandersm and they’ll be hoping for more of the same. After County, Celtic have to trips- one in the Glasgow derby — Partick Thistle and then away to Kilmarnock on a Monday night. In future fixtures in Inter Milan, who The Celts drew in the next stage of the Europa League. The mid-table Italians are beatable to many in the Celtic camp, whereas the same will probably be said in the Inter camp. Celtic are desperate to keep hold off their top players, but face competition from elsewhere. Ronny Deila will also be looking to add to his squad with the Inter game in mind as well as the all Glasgow affair in the cup semi-final in February.

Celtic Club

The introduction of this slot game comes at a successful time in the history of the club. Celtic have won the Scottish Premiership title for the past eight seasons and the 2018/19 season again saw them win the domestic treble. That’s the third season in a row that they have managed that. Hopefully, a winning streak like that will come along when playing the Celtic FC Slot game.

History of the club

History of the club

This season has had the occasional up and down. Despite all the success in the domestic game, life is still a bit tough when it comes to European football. Sadly, Celtic was unable to reach the group stages of the Champions League. This is the history of Celtic slots to enjoy.

Celtic gained wins over Sarajevo and Nomme Kalju in the first two Champions League qualifying rounds. That led to a third qualifying round tie against CFR Cluj from Romania. The first leg was played away from home and Celtic fans were pleased to see their team return home with a 1-1 draw.

Hopes were high of reaching the play-off round, but it was not to be. Celtic lost 4-3 at home. The loss saw a Celtic move into the Europa League and they successfully got past AIK from Sweden 6-1 on aggregate. That took them into the group stages and the draw proved to be a very interesting one. The Scottish Champions would have to face French side Rennes, Serie A team Lazio and a certain CFR Cluj, who had failed to reach the Champions League group stages.

Celtic had reached the last 32 of the Europa League in their last two attempts. This wasn’t an easy draw but just like hitting the jackpot in their slot game, it’s been a triumphant one for Celtic and a place in the knock-out stages has already been achieved with a game to spare.

They are unbeaten in their first five group games and have beaten Lazio home and away. Celtic have also drawn in Rennes and got that revenge when beating CFR Cluj 2-0 at Celtic Park. If only they’d done that earlier in the season.

2020 already promises a great deal for Celtic. They top the Scottish Premiership ahead of great rivals Rangers. It already looks like a two-horse race as it always was in the old days. Celtic has the edge at the moment though and they will be hoping it stays that way and a ninth straight title is won.

Then there’ll be the Scottish Cup and hopefully, the Bhoys will lift the trophy for the 40th time and the fourth year in a row.

Celtic Football Club Slot Game Review

Celtic fans must’ve been over the moon when they heard about this Celtic Football Club slot release from Blueprint Gaming. Other than perhaps Rangers supporters, football fanatics everywhere will relish the opportunity to combine gaming with their other favourite pastime.

Celtic FC was founded in Glasgow in 1887 and has since gone on to become one of the most successful sides in Scottish football. Their most exceptional year was the 1966-67 season which is commemorated with a symbol in the game. That year the team went on to win the Glasgow Cup, the League cup, the Scottish League Championship, and the European Cup. Not a bad year at all for The Bhoys.

Plenty of club imagery and memorabilia abounds throughout Celtic Football Club slot. The reels are set against the background of a packed house at Celtic Park. It’s daytime and bright sunlight floods in to illuminate the ground and the thousands of fans cheering their team on.

Blueprint Gaming has gone for a 3-row x 5 reel arrangement with 20 pay lines for building winning combos. The setup has the standard Blueprint look with bets easily raised or lowered using the BET arrows. Wagers can be set as low as 0.20 coins or as high as 200 coins to get the most out of it.

The game has been capped with a maximum win of 250,000 coins which is an extraordinary amount. Not so remarkable is the RTP that is rated at 91.86% – 95.27% which is unusually low. Even at its highest level, it’s not great, but at its lowest, well let’s just say that it is not an impressive figure and one that could put off all but the most ardent Celtic fans.

Celtic Football Club can be played for real money, or demoed in free play mode. It has also been optimised for mobile devices so it can be enjoyed during a half time break wherever you happen to be.

Premier symbols

The symbols used are a mixture of old and new. For the most part, at least three of the same symbols are required to form a winning combination. For the low pay symbols the developers have gone with using the 10, J, Q, K, and A. The least valuable winners are three 10s, Js, and Qs, which are worth 0.20x the stake. Five of a kind will get you 5x the stake. The K and A are worth between 0.50x and 10x the stake.

The four higher paying symbols are where the action and passion start to heat up. The Jersey combos are worth 1x to 12.5x the stake, and the illustrious Celtic Logo 2x to 15x the stake. 1967 was such a glorious year that only 2 of these symbols are needed to return 0.10x, while five are worth 25x the stake. Not tremendous values, but there is potential there.

Slot Shuang Xi - Game Review

The shimmering green Wild symbol tops the game for value. Like the 1967 symbol, just two of these will get you 0.10x the stake while five are worth a fabulous 1000x. With the top betting level of 200 coins, we are talking about the possibility of making 200,000 coins from one combo. Land that and you’ll know how Celtic fans felt at the end of the ’67 season.

The final symbol of note is the BONUS symbol. This game-changer spins on reels 1,3 and 5 and when three lands then it’s time to reap the rewards of the Changing Room Bonus.

The beautiful game

The Wild may be the most lucrative symbol, but a lot of the time it will be serving its alternative function. It has the ability to substitute for any of the other paying symbols. The game also possesses an exciting random Wild feature which can appear at any time during a spin. During this thrilling sequence up to four reels can be covered entirely in Wilds which can result in a whole lot combos while the crowd cheers you on.

The game gets a welcome expansion via the Changing Room Bonus feature. Three BONUS symbols whisk the player back to the changing room where four Celtic shirts are hanging up. Choosing one of them will open up one of four bonus features.

  • Mystery Win – Win a random prize.
  • Trophy Room – Select a trophy to win some cash.
  • The Celtic Way – Move across a board collecting multipliers, upgrades and cash until a red card is revealed.
  • Champions Free Spins – 10 free spins are awarded symbols that change and transform. Each free spin has the tantalising possibility of showering players with huge prizes!

What makes Celtic Football Club slot so special?

Celtic Football Club will instantly appeal to supporters of the team. When the game was announced, it must have been a dream come true for them. The graphics are good, without being outstanding, and top quality sounds to accompany them. There is certainly enough here to entertain gamers whether they are into football or not.

One major drawcard is the fantastic array of extras. The Changing Room bonus is one of the features that stand out, and its four options will keep gamers coming back for more. Trying out each one of them will take time and keep levels high while attempting to do so.

The RTP rating may be a let-down for some gamers, but the extra features go a long way to negate this. There are excellent opportunities for landing high-value combinations, notably the Wild, and its jackpot is a game changer. If the RTP rate is making you worry then check the game out for free and see how it plays out.

There are a lot of football themed slots out there but very few based on a single team. A lot could be riding on Blueprint’s experiment with Celtic. If this slot proves to be successful, then we could be seeing a lot more teams used as themes. We live in hope. Football fans the world over are waiting with bated breath.
